XS2Talent, a Dutch company, has designed a nice innovative solution, that helps to position lifelong learning better to employees, and make it more attractive as well. Currently the solution works in The Netherlands only, as approval of the tax authorities is required.
A personal learning account
The solution allows organisations to create personal learning accounts for their employees, where money can be reserved to be used for training and education by the individual employee. Up to a certain amount, the money can be put in the account tax exempt.
The personal learning account is connected to the employee, so if she leaves the organisation, the account remains available for the employee.
The scheme has several clear benefits: more transparency, more ownership of the employee and tax benefits for the employer.
